Chris Clayton is a Nashville-based Worship & CCM producer and songwriter signed to Story House Publishing, a creative venture led by five-time GRAMMY nominated and multiple Gospel Music Association Dove Award winning artist and songwriter Matthew West in partnership with Essential Music Publishing (a unit of Sony Music Entertainment).

A trusted voice in the creation and stewardship of songs for the Church, Chris helps artists and churches craft songs that are theologically grounded and musically durable. He brings conviction, purpose, and long-term vision into every writing room and production environment, guided by the belief that songs should be written with clarity, produced with strength, and built to serve the Church not merely for a season, but for generations.

His credits include work with artists including Chris Tomlin, Keith & Kristyn Getty, Selah, Big Daddy Weave, Natalie Layne, Meredith Andrews, Bethel Music artists Josh Baldwin and Bethany Wohrle, Darlene Zschech, Shane & Shane, Bridge Worship, Christine D’Clario, CityAlight, and Skye Reedy. Chris has also written songs and produced records for some of the largest churches in America, including The Belonging Co., Houston’s First Baptist Church, Valley Creek Church, Pinelake Church, and Crossroads Church. In 2018 he was nominated as a songwriter for the Gospel Music Association Canada Covenant Award for Pop Song of the Year.

Chris lives in the Nashville area with his wife Kara and their five children. When he’s not in the studio, you’ll likely find him in the backyard preparing a BBQ feast or spending time with family and friends.
